I love words, earrings, and bumblebees. I have lots of houseplants, and one dog.
I write fun, surprising picture books that look at the world a little aslant—like metaphors. My stories pique the imagination and invite delight with bright ideas told through accessible prose and appealing dialogue. I write fiction and info-fiction that invites readers to be playful, curious, and a little bit introspective (like me).
I have a Bachelor's degree in English from Princeton University and a PhD in Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

I won awards from the National Council for Teachers of English and the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in high school. Now, I am a member of Bethany Hegedus's The Writing Barn and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). I did Julie Hedlund's 12x12 Challenge in 2023 and that's how I met my critique groups.
Writing, well written
